If you are reading this article then I am going to assume that you are new to Keyword Research, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), etc. So here is a paragraph or two on what this is all about  and why you need to do it ok?

Everything i list here should be done before you buy a Website domain name or build a website but if you have already started, well then the next best time to do this is right now. You may have to go back and changes some things…or even start over, but it is better then never getting any people to your website and never knowing why and giving up like many people do OK?

1) Building  a  great website does not mean that people will come to it

Anyone can build a website. Now adays there are free website builders or tools you can buy to create a website in under an hour! But guess what? The idea of "build it and they will come" doesn't work anymore!

Why? There are hundreds of millions of websites out there…actually over a billion… and you may build a great website with great articles and great information, but no one is going to find it unless you market it in some way.

2) First you need to do Niche Market Research.

Every website focuses on something – dogs, making money, selling camping supplies, whatever. What it focuses on is its niche, its place in the internet. Its reason for being. So you need to do Niche research to understand that market, what people look for and want AND what people type in to the search engine when they are looking for information and products in that market!

You can do this research just by searching on the internet yourself. Write down what you see, the top Website names (your competition!). Then You can look at the best websites. What are the titles of their main articles? The URL of the website? You can even use the "View Source" (right click on the website and then click on view source) to see the code of the page you are on and their Keywords (in the META Keyword tag).

3) Now you need to do some keyword research.

Basically you are going to get together a list of keywords that:

1) People use to find information or products like those on your website

2)  Do not have to much competition

3) But do not have to little searches.

Once you have this list you will then take 1-3 to focus you main website on. And then 1 or 2 to focus each web page on. Putting those keywords in the pages:

1. URL
2. H1 Title tag
3. and an H2 – H3 Title tag.
4. And you will use the word and synonyms for that word scattered in your writing as you write 300 or more words for the page on that subject.

While the information is pretty basic, some people will watch a video rather then read an informative article so I thought I would include it in the hopes that it gives some people the basics and that might motivate them to read some of our articles on Keyword Research, Keyword Software Tools and SEO.

OK, a little more about this Keyword Research Video interview of Christine Churchill. In the video, Byron Gordon, SEO-PR, interviews Christine Churchill, a highly regarded expert, on both how to do keyword research and why it is so important for SEO. In a nutshell the Text consists of keywords, says Christine, and it goes right back to how people are searching the Web. Christine says if you don't have your bog posts, videos, and Website all optimized for keywords that are relevant to you and can bring you traffic, you wont be found on the Web. Christine goes on to describe the elements of keyword research and describes effective keyword tools, including Wordtracker and wordstream.

I am a fan of Wordtracker and Word Stream, they have a lot of tools but it is way overcomplicated and pricey for the average blogger, You are much better off with a single good quality tool Like Keyword Research Pro or Keyword Elite. If you can't afford one then learn the process by reading articles and get by with some of the free tools like Googles Keyword Tool.

OK here is a really great video about Keyword research, seo and basic web SEO.

I really like this as a beginner video as it is clear and to the point.
It starts off by telling you why SEO, and Keyword research is important. It also defines the terms it uses so if you are new to this it isn't a confusing waste of time.

Worth noting is that he shows about 4 different free tools for doing keyword research> but note that, even with all these tools, he just scratches the surface when it comes to keyword research, analysis and SEO for a niche market, especially when compared to a quality keyword research software system. Hey you get what you pay for right?

You can do it his way, hopping from free tool to free tool and do half of the analysis you really need, or you can by a keyword software tool like Keyword Research Pro, and do all of it, everything you need and twice as much as your competitors who only use the skimpy free tools, do.

This guy is clear, concise and spot on when it comes to keyword research and optimizing your website for the search engines.

But Remember this is an introductory video and does not go very deep into a lot of the subjects.

But it DOES give you some action items that you can implement right away to get going on how to do keyword research and how to optimize your blog for the search engine (SEO = Search Engine Optimization)

OK Here is a great beginners guide to SEO in a video tutorial form. Once again, I always recommend that everyone read and watch everything they can on SEO, keyword research, keyword analysis, niche markets and SEO!

But this SEO video is really good. It covers all of the basics from defining just what the heck Search Engine Optimization is, what "Organic Results" are, what is meant by Keyword Research, Pay per Click, Competitor analysis, etc.

Now that I think about it, so many people just think that Keyword Analysis is just keyword research. Take all the hoopla around the  Google wonder wheel. Heck, thats just brain storming. And most peoples Keyword Research will just get them keywords that hopefully are representative of search terms that people use when searching for products or information in their Niche Market.

But what about your competition? Yes, you may find a keyword with 1.5 million searches a month. but how many Website are competing for search engine ranking on that one Keyword term? What are your chances with a new Website, of ever seeing the first page of Google for that term?

That is why this video on Search Engine Optimization so good. It gets down to basics like this, and I love to say this line, "But wait, Theres more"

Another Keyword Software Video.

This video on Keyword software and Keyword research is not as thorough as some of the other videos on Keywords that we have posted on this site and it is certainly not up to par with the Keyword Research Pro software that we offer a special deal on on the first page of our site.

But I do like to post as many Keyword Research related articles and videos that I find so that you, our reader and or Keyword Researcher, has as many viewpoints on this critical subject as possible.

Even if you buy a great Keyword Software System like Keyword Research PRo or even some of the other more expensive ones on the market, you need  to understand how to define your niche market, how to analyses the keywords associated with it. You need to be able to do this especially in the context of what keywords your competitors are using AND you need to make sure that you optimize your entire Website for the Keyword Strategy that you select.

In order to do all of this you need to gain as much knowledge about keyword software as you can from as many places as possible so that you have a well rounded knowledge of what it is about and how you belive you can best utilize keyword research to optimize your Website for the search engines. That is what its all about.

When doing Keyword Research, even when using quality keyword software, So many people are in such a rush to get their website up and dominate their Niche market that they fail to do the single most important task that they have to do. They fail to understand their market, its lingo and select their keywords accordingly. That is where this video comes in!

Some people rely too heavily on Keyword Software. As I mentioned in another article on this site I am not a huge fan of using Googles keyword research software Wonder Wheel for Keyword Research.

Wonder wheel basically allows you to enter a keyword for a niche you want to research and then it comes up with a spider shaped chart with each arm pointing to a related keyword term. Click on any one of those terms and you come up with another set of keywords related to that term.

While doing keyword research this way is OK – it allows you to explore related keywords and keywords that are related to those keywords, the Google wonder wheel software is pretty basic and it does not do the extensive competitor analysis of other keyword research software like Keyword Research Pro does. It is basically a one trick pony. But it does have extra applications.

Here is a video from a library. In the school that sent this to me they apparently uses the Wonder Wheel Keyword research tool to help students narrow down their search results and get great access to sites that will provide them with background information on their specific topic. Cool huh?

I could see where it would be a good aid for researching information in this manner. Finding terms related to terms. Almost like meta data – data about data.

nichemarketninja.com Just been alerted via Matt Cutts Blog about some of the new search features on the Google Search Engine. This video is about the Wonder Wheel feature which I am using with great success for discovering new Niche Markets and Micro Niche Markets.

Worth noting that there are a lot of similar items on the market place. But when it comes to Keyword election, optimization and SEO, nothing out there touches Keyword Research Pro!
